Interns and Volunteers

Daliz Casablanca Sánchez
Daliz is an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey. Besides supporting and learning from the TRACE technicians, she's also completing an independent project, looking at stomatal size and density in various understory species in the experimental plots.

Sofía Brege
Sofía is an undergraduate student at Amherst College in Massachusetts. While helping with day-to-day tasks, she's also measuring vegetation temperatures between the control and warmed plots, to assess if there's differences across treatments, species, and plant height.

Natalie Peterson-Hunt

Natalie is undergoing Bachelor studies at Chapman University in California. Under the mentorship of Dr. Christine O'Connell and PhD student Rachel Cruz-Pérez, she's assessing diurnal patterns in carbon dioxide with depth and along a topographic gradient at the TRACE site.

Valeria Lara
Val is an undergraduate student at Chapman University, California mentored by Dr. Christine O'Connell. During her internship, she was studying how different treatments of leaf litter influence soil respiration along a topographic gradient.
